Photography Qualms, Maybe I’m just too shy?
Okay so I think some of the coolest shots ever taken are of people. I have always has a fascination with eyes, and think that I could be good at actually taking pictures of people. Recently I have been without a car, and have i MET some awesome people on the bus? YES I have.
There is this one guy on the bus I see almost every day in the morning… he dresses like a pimp, from the 1950’s!

Lizard Eyes
Its awesome. There is another guy I’ve seen a couple times, he is awlays drawing in a composition notebook, and he has lizard glasses on like the ones pictured. All these people are so fascinating to me… even just the little Mexican grandmas who have their 5 young kids that they are leading to school.
But that brings me to my issue… how do you go up to someone with a big ole’ camera and hope they don’t care you are taking their picture? If someone came up to you with a big camera and got in your face while you are on the bus, would you appreciate it? I don’t think I would! and because of that, I just can’t bring myself ot bring my camera on the bus and actually take picture sof these people.
How do you guys get over this anxiety/nervousness/shyness?
Here is another problem – so I do ask them, they say yes… now they are posing! I don’t need anyone posing for me, that isn’t my style, I like just capturing “life” as-is, no pretend hardships, no pretend posing.
Oh well… well any comments welcome, hopefully i’ll get the motivation to get over it soon.
